Back by Popular Demand this great children's story is one of my childhood favorites and made a big splash as one of last Summer's kids camps!
This bestelling book by Caldecott winner Maurice Sendak tells the story of Max, who one evening plays around his home, "making mischief" in a wolf costume.Max gets carried away, as young men in wolf costumes often do and as punishment, his mother sends him to bed without supper. In his room, a mysterious, wild forest grows out of his imagination, and Max journeys to the land of the Wild Things. They are fearsome-looking monsters, but the fearless Max conquers them with a scary look and is immediately made the King of the Wild Things. They party in the jungle, without mothers to tell them no, but, he soon finds himself lonely and homesick. A much more penitent Max returns home to his bedroom where he finds his supper waiting for him ... "And it was still hot."
Join us August 4-8 from 9:30 -12:00 as we play acting games, dress up, do "monster" crafts and pretty much party 'til the wild things come home! This great camp followed by a public performace on Friday August 8 at 7pm will be the third in our Summer $1 theatre season. Can't be here for all the fun? Make plans to come see the show, we promise it will be the most fun you can have for a buck anywhere!
